The Centrality and Supremecy of the Lord Jesus Christ

Moving along in our look at the this letter to the church in Colosse, I have come to realize that sometimes you just have to let someone else say what you want to say, when they can say it better than you.

(whaddya’ say?  ;-)   )

Furthermore, without any reservation, I want to be clear in stating that much of what I have to say, and have already said, has already been, and is still being said by other men and women who have done, and still do, a much better job than myself.

However, although I have been enlightened by reading the works of many others, I do believe that I can say that the Lord has not only shown me many of these things directly and personally, but He has also walked me through some of these things experientially.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:

I make no claim to attainment, but I would be a fool to count what the Lord has both shown me and worked into me as being without great value.

It is my hope that you can say the same for your self.

It is at this time that I set before you what I consider to be the very heart and core, the most primary and even all consuming matter, which, without a doubt in my mind, is something that we absolutely must get hold of.

If you get hold of what I am about to present to you, you shall have no worries of ever getting hold of anything else, as the heart of this message is all inclusive.

Perhaps you have read the following message before. If you have, I encourage you to read it again.

Now I understand the limitations of messages, in that they can only point to a greater reality.

This one, I believe, is probably the best Christian message that I have ever read, personally.

I present to you, Mr. T. Austin Sparks.

Be blessed.

(BTW…If I never post here again, I can rest assured knowing that my heart of hearts was expressed, albeit through the words of another.)

I totally realize that I just jumped ahead in posting this, but I thought the ‘Delivered and Conveyed’ message pretty much spoke for itself.

Now how do I say what I want to say without sounding arrogant…..?

Re-reading this message by Mr. Sparks has proven to be a most delightful experience for me, as it brings and keeps everything right where it is supposed to be.
    In Christ.

It has been said (I believe it is even said on his website), that when he truly began his ministry, all of his messages centered on the Lord Jesus Christ.
In time, he began to write about many other things, touching on other subjects of the ‘Christian life’, and then towards the end He centered back on Christ again.

    Now for my arrogance.

He touches on something which has been called by many different names, and although I just know that there is some degree of truth to what he is saying, it doesn’t quite settle in my Spirit.

It is on the matter of ‘willful sin’.

This could rather easily turn into some kind of big debate as to what the scriptures mean as to this matter of ‘presumptuous sin’, one side saying that it means any sin which is done with ill intent, in a pre-meditative sort of way, while other folks see nearly all acts and instances of sins being presumptuous to some degree.

    Don’t get me wrong.
I don’t think anyone should do anything that they know is wrong.
That being said, I don’t believe these kinds of acts to run near the ‘unpardonable sin’ by any means.

I just think that we run the risk of reaping what we sow, which we should keep on the Spiritual/eternal life side as opposed to the carnal/ corruption side.

    Wow.
I am elaborating on this sooo much more than even Mr. Sparks did in this particular message…
(guess it was a tender spot for me.)

The only other message that I can think of that runs a close second to this one would be ‘Sit, Walk, Stand” by Watchman Nee.
I HIGHLY recommend reading this if you ever get a chance.
    There are others…

    Any way,
    Bye for now,
Grace and Peace in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Greetings. I must find a time to stop by here when I have more time to read. lol. Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and as it’s almost 1:30am. I’ve been terrible at responding lately as a thousand things are going on at the same time. (I still want to respond to your previous post on Colossians.)

Have a blessed evening in Jesus.

BTW, dear readers, it would be all too easy to read brother Sparks’ entire message from start to finish, and consider that we ‘get it’

Yes, we can understand it conceptually, but the very things that he is writing about, as I’m sure many of you already know, are, to me, ‘expositions’ on divine truth which can only truly be identified with in experience.

    Again and again…
I have not arrived, but some of this stuff truly resonates with my heart and my experience…
    nonetheless…
One would do well to read the first two chapters and pray for just those things to become a reality before moving on ahead with anything else.

Our minds can very easily get the better of us….

    For me…
There is yet STILL more reception on my part to our being ‘delivered and conveyed’, but man o man!!!!….when I got it,….I GOT IT!!

    Hallelujah!
