So here’s the deal.
I’m about to let the whole wide world know what’s on my mind right now….
That is anyone who happens to come across this insignificant little blog of mine here.
But in exchange, you have to be grown up enough to decide if you think that my words and thoughts here are ‘true’. Furthermore, I’ll leave it up to you to judge my hearts motivations.
How about that?
Deal?
If not, stop reading.
I don’t have a whole lot of time here to say everything that I want to say right now, and it would probably be better for me to break it up a bit anyway….
So where should I start?
I want to start with a lesson that I seem to be re-learning over the years.
God let’s us go through stuff.
In that stuff, he expresses himself.
And he also hides.
He allows us to listen to others and also to speak to others.
Sometimes what is shared is true and good and sometimes it’s just twisted and dark. I figure that most of the time, it’s somewhere in-between those two extremes.
God allows us to make our own choices. And he allows us to do, basically, whatever we want to do.
He allows us to go down the rabbit trails. Even the good and holy rabbit trails. And He is there with us.
We may not believe that he is there. We may even decide that he never was there in the first place. That’s our choice.
We may get pissed off that he doesn’t seem to be proving himself to us, and so we go about with our tantrums and rants…
Or we might pretend that we sense and feel him when we really don’t and get on our soapbox of ‘faith’.
And then sometimes we just know…
in the fullest sense of the word.
We can have our agendas and join movements, or we can isolate.
We can study and learn more and more about what other people have to say about ‘it’. Which is fine.
We can try to be somebody…
or we can try to be a nobody…
We can sin more or sin less…
We can beat ourselves down or we can lift ourselves up.
We can give ourselves a good feeling for ‘doing the right thing’ or we can just sit back and remain uninvolved.
We can live and let live, or we can live and let die.
We can die, or we can live.
We can become complex and ‘robust’ or we can be simple. We can teach and talk and proclaim and pastor and shepherd…
and we can have all of these things done to us.
We can damage and destroy, deconstruct and manipulate…
We can build, and strengthen, and go with the flow…
We can do all of ‘it’ or none of ‘it’.
For sure, we can write an awful lot about ‘it’.
But you know what?
I’m over ‘it’.
‘It’ doesn’t matter to me anymore.
So there’s my introduction to ‘where I’m at’.
I hope it makes sense.
It really doesn’t matter.
